For the greater part of my personal and professional life (especially early on) I struggled with believing that I should be further along, achieving more, accomplishing more, experiencing more. But it wasn’t until I let go of needing more that more presented itself.

Later I studied and sought to identify why others weren’t further along, achieving more, accomplishing more, experiencing more. I now realize as result of my own struggle and struggle of others that you must first “let go” before you can receive.

Have you ever lived someplace you absolutely hated?  You know like crappy little back room “bachelor” apartment or just above a Chinese restaurant? We’ve all been there. For years one of my dearest friends lived in his parents’ dreary, damp old basement with no windows, no heat and mind numbing florescent lights. Even though it […]

Sure, we’re all about success. There’s little point in trying anything new (other than just for fun) if success were not the desired outcome or at least a possibility. But too many of us overlook how vital the role of “failure” plays in our subsequent successes. Yes…there are actually some substantial benefits to failing.   […]

During an interview I once told Muscle and Fitness Magazine that “being in shape and contest ready was like wearing bullet proof armor on stage… I felt invincible like no one could touch me.” That armor extended way beyond the competition stage. I often call the gym or workout environment “the strength of will proving ground” because we have an opportunity while in that environment to not only test our will but develop it as well.  But the physical training environment is even more than that. It can also serve as an acute opportunity to identify the self […]

I was recently asked competition advice by an old friend who has been competing as a body builder for several years. He’s had some great success over his 20 plus year career but he has also faced some frustration and disappointment. His goal has been to capture a prestigious IFBB pro card which continues to allude […]

While visiting our regular Island paradise (Antigua) we decided to do a little more than just lay around the pool (which aint bad either) so we ventured out with some friend into the jungle and to take a look at the Island from its highest point… what a freaking blast.  Enjoy the tour.

Here’s a question for you… “What do you believe is the number one most important component in the entire fitness puzzle?” Here are your choices: 1.  Nutrition 2.  Exercise 3.  Mindset I surveyed a group of 500 fitness/exercise enthusiasts who had illustrated their commitment to improving their health, stamina and over all physical appearance – […]

I’m around the fitness and bodybuilding community quite a bit. In fact I would say my time is split just about down the middle between what I do in the fitness world and the work I do in the personal growth, development and leadership communities. And I love it that way.  I’m always learning something […]
