Survive or Prosper In a Downword Economy?
Sunday, November 9th, 2008
Bar none the number one fear I am hearing from the personal training community has to do with a declining client base in this tricky downword economy. That fear is a direct reflection of the economic climate itself.
As much as I understand the damage that scarcity thinking and fear does to optimism and forward momentum even I have to admit that people do seem to have tightened up on their discretionary spending. As we know most of our clients are of the misperseption that training is a luxury item. And as a result your services may be on the block when considering spending cuts.
So what can we do about it? Do we continue to do business as usual or do we honker down, tighten our belts, and brace for the worst?
Is your stratagy geared for success or survival? Or have you chosen the ostrich style approach?
Share with us one tactic or your whole stratagy and I’ll send you my ‘Top 10 Success Tactics for Prospering in a Down Economy’
I want to here from you.

I know this is crazy but I can’t help it. My wife is always yelling at me to stop…every time we drive by a great piece of real estate I have to say “that would make an awesome personal training studio.” But it doesn’t end there. Being a former bodybuilder I just can’t help but compare someone’s genetic potential to how they might look after 10 years of intense training, a great tan, and a good coat of baby oil. So as I was watching American Idol along with some absolutely ridiculous number of well everyone in the freaking world, it dawned on me that perhaps I wasn’t the only one wondering……who has a better set of guns and wheels Jordon or Blake.
My heart is broken today along with millions of other Americans and hopefully a good part of the rest of the world over what took place at Virginia Tech just this morning. An immeasurable tragedy…it leaves me at loss for words.
